Pregnancy Care

We know that pregnancy can be both a stressful and exciting experience at the same time. Whether you are a new mum or have been through it before, we like to make sure you are fully informed on the initial antenatal care you will need. Speak to your GP and they will be able to assist you in any concerns you may have.

I am planning a pregnancy. What should I do?

If you are contemplating a pregnancy, it is a good idea to discuss with your doctor any immunisations or supplements you may need, change of medications if you are on treatment for a condition and any blood tests that may be helpful.

Good news! I am pregnant. What do I do now?

Your doctor will provide pregnancy advice, guide you through your initial tests and scans, including first trimester screening, as well as attending to any early pregnancy symptoms.

You can then discuss with them how you would like your pregnancy managed. This could be through either Bendigo Health or under an obstetrician as a private patient.

What happens after I deliver my baby?

Once you have had your baby (or babies!), we will provide care for you and your newborn. We recommend you register your baby and yourself for postnatal checks with us. This appointment usually includes the recommended paediatric immunisations.
